Candied Bacon Sweet Potato Waffle Fries

Going into the fourth week of french fry creating and testing for Alexia Foods, one would think I might be entirely tired of eating french fries by now. That couldn’t be farther from the truth.

The one day I didn’t eat french fries an overwhelming craving hit me head on at 11:00 p.m.

I’ve developed quite a french fry habit, one that is going to be hard to break!

What’s all this french fry talk about anyways?

I’ve been tasked by Alexia Foods to create a new french fry flavor for their “Reinvent a Classic” challenge along with 20 of my fellow bloggers. The top four creations will be picked by Alexia’s research and development team then put up to a consumer vote on Facebook. The top four winners also get to attend the Foodbuzz Blogger Festival in November to unveil their winning creations for sampling. The winning french fry flavor will be produced and sold in the fall of 2012.

Here’s another entirely inspired recipe that came from the brown sugar bacon candy I made a few weeks back.

Sweet potato waffle fries are dusted with cooked, crumbled bacon; chile powder and brown sugar.

Spicy, sweet, savory and salty flavors that are perfect compliments.

I’m creating these fries with one goal in mind. You. I want nothing more than to create a flavor with wide appeal that everyone will love. This is your last chance to tell me what you like! I’ll be announcing my entry on Wednesday.

What kind of seasonings do you like on your fries? Cheese? Herbs? Bacon? Mildly spiced or with hot spices like cayenne? A french fry creator needs  to know these things!
