Cream Cheese & Fruit Stuffed French Toast Casserole

Decadent baked french toast stuffed with cream cheese and Smucker's® Fruit & Honey Concord Grape spread.
  • 8 slices white or wheat sandwich bread
  • 8 tablespoons Smuckers® Fruit & Honey Concord Grape Spread
  • 8 tablespoons whipped cream cheese
  • butter, for greasing the pan
  • 5 eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk or half & half
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • dash or two of ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Smucker's® Honey & Fruit Concord Grape Spread
  1. Smear 4 slices of bread with 2 tablespoons each of the Concord Grape Spread.
  2. Smear the remaining 4 slices with 2 tablespoons each of the whipped cream cheese.
  3. Make 4 sandwiches out of them and slice each one in half.
  4. Generously grease a 10 x 7-inch high sided casserole dish with butter.
  5. Stand the sandwiches up in the casserole dish.
  6. In a medium mixing bowl whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg together. Pour it slowly over the french toast. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or at least an hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  8. Bake 20 - 25 minutes until golden on top.
  9. Whisk ½ cup maple syrup and 2 tablespoons of grape spread together. Drizzle over the french toast to serve.
