Hershey’s recently launched a new line of chocolates called Brookside where smooth and creamy dark chocolate combines with exotic fruit juices like pomegranate, acai with blueberry and goji with raspberry.
The dark chocolate is mild in flavor with a sweet pop of fruit flavor. They’re soft and chewy like chocolate covered raisins with addictive qualities that keep you going back for “just one more handful” again and again. Tell yourself it’s okay because they’re full of natural flavanol antioxidants to help you live a balanced life.
One lucky reader will win a healthy balance tasting kit filled with these prizes:
- 1 pkg. Brookside® Dark Chocolate Pomegranate
- 1 pkg. Brookside® Dark Chocolate Açai with Blueberry
- 1 pkg. Brookside® Dark Chocolate Goji with Raspberry
- 3 serving bowls with a central loop handle (each bowl is an 8 oz. well)

i would love to try the goji berry flavor
I would love to try the `dark chocolate goji with raspberry’ – though I would really like to try them all because they all sound interesting. Do I have reason for choosing d-c-g-r over the others? It’s because I’m familiar with both pomegranate and açai – though had never come across `goji’ ..
I now know, after doing some research that the goji berry is also called wolfberry. And that the Goji belongs to the` solanaceae’ family of flowering plants. Some believe the name of `solanaceae’ comes from the Latin verb solari, meaning “to soothe” presumably referring to the soothing pharmacological properties of some of the species of the family. This plant family, to which goji belongs, includes tomatillo, chili pepper, bell pepper, potato, tomato, eggplant and even tobacco – among other toxic plants like deadly nightshade. Some research suggests that goji berry extracts may boost brain health and may protect against age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s. Other studies using goji berry juice founds benefits in mental well-being, and calmness, athletic performance, happiness, quality of sleep, and feelings of good health. {Sounds good to me.}
I would never have known any of this if I hadn’t read this post (just like I didn’t know that you could make your own tahini paste, and other useful tips one can learn from your blog).
So after that lengthy explanation – I would choose the Brookside® Dark Chocolate Goji with Raspberry- because I believe in both learning and trying new things. I also like eating brownies for breakfast (if they’re homemade) – and I would like to try adding these chocolate covered berries into my brownies. :)
The Goji / Raspberry sounds heavenly!
Would like to try the pomegranate
