Burgers spiced up with taco seasonings, cheddar cheese, guacamole and tortilla chips! Whether you’re craving tacos, burgers or spicy guacamole and chips – all three worlds collide making the choice easy!
You know when you take those first few bites of something only to realize how good it is so you eat slower to make it last longer, savoring every bite and finally when you get to the end you still feel really sad? This burger is all of that and more.
Normally I like to keep my burgers plain and let the toppings do the talking (unless it’s a veggie burger than anything goes) but I made an exception for this one. I couldn’t resist combining the two and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
I underestimate guacamole all the time. So rich and fatty, it really makes the burger special. The cool, creamy texture against the spiciness of the burger with the gooey cheese and the chewy cornbread roll defies deliciousness. It’s the superhero of burgers.
Seriously.
Tall and messy, eating one is an adventure worth taking.
Burgers spiced up with taco seasonings, cheddar cheese, guacamole and tortilla chips! Worlds collide.
Ingredients
Instructions
- In a large bowl using a fork combine the ground beef, onion, chile powder, oregano and cumin together. Form into 4 equal-sized patties. Season each side with salt and pepper. Cook them however you like to cook your burgers - I use a George grill. During the last minute or two melt the cheese over top.
- While the burgers are cooking mash the avocado and mix with the jalapeno lemon, mayo, tomatoes and cilantro. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve the burgers on buns with generous dollops of quacamole and any toppings you like.

Oh good lordy. These look mouthwatering, Reeni!! I may not have even had breakfast, but I’m definitely craving these burgers now. Amazing recipe!
So (a) you topped a burger with GUAC. LOVE.
(b) You sandwiched it in-between my new bread obsession. LOVE.
I can’t get enough of this post.

I’m not a big fan of burgers, but my favorite combo is a burger made with lots of garlic, and topped with a little mayo and sliced avocado. A slice of tomato tossed in is good, too :) My uncle always makes burgers with lots of garlic and my cousins and I would always top our burgers like that. When I make burgers I add fish sauce to the mix (a trick from the White on Rice Couple blog) and they’re the best burgers. Once I mixed some diced jalapeno and cream cheese into the meat, then topped the burgers with more cream cheese and jalapenos, and my husband still talks about those burgers! Bet he’d like these ones, so would I! We just spent the past 3 nights eating refried beans and Mexican rice, Mexican-ish food is hard to resist!
Wow, you’re gonna give burger places a run for their money with this one.
