Celebrate National Meatball Day by whipping up a skillet meatball pizza!
Whether you’re a busy Mom or just don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, this is quick and easy enough to make on a busy weeknight when you use Cooked Perfect® Meatballs.
Cooked Perfect Meatballs are absolutely delicious! Flame-broiled to sear in all their flavors that includes savory herbs and spices, real cheeses and select meats. Look for them in the freezer aisle of your market because once you find them they will be a staple in your meals.
Cooked Perfect Meatballs are available in a wide variety of flavors! For the skillet pizza, I like to use the bite size Italian style version. Feel free to use the turkey meatballs or the Sweet Italian version instead. All would be equally good here.
There’s no need to fuss over making pizza dough at home either! You can easily find it at the market in both fresh and frozen versions. I also use canned pizza sauce too. All time-savers to get dinner on the table fast.
To make the pizza a cast iron skillet is brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with a tiny bit of cornmeal to prevent sticking then the dough is stretched out. Top with pizza sauce, dried oregano, mozzarella and the finishing touch – Cooked Perfect Meatballs. They sit atop the pizza like a delicious prize.
Pizza made in a cast iron skillet is so very good! With a thick crust, it bakes up crisp on the bottom, soft and chewy on the inside making for the perfect pan pizza.
There’s nothing like coming home after a long, busy day to cook dinner. You can plan on this ahead of time, knowing in a breezy 20 minutes or so dinner will be in the oven.
Everyone will show up to the table once the scent of this fills the air!
It’s sure to be a big hit!
